WELCOME:
Uehling is nestled in a beautiful quiet little farming community A small
friendly town with no traffic and where everyone knows everyone else. It was
founded in 1906 by Theodore Uehling.
An example of the community is Linda's Cafe (a quaint and picturesque cafe)
one of several locations where area residents meet most mornings for coffee and
good fellowship. Linda has personally operated this cafe for over 50 years.
LOCATION:
The town is located on highway 77 just 21 miles north of Fremont and is
approximately 55 miles from either Omaha, NE or Sioux City, IA..
Uehling is located in Dodge County but is only a half mile from Burt County
and only several miles from either Washington or Cuming Counties. This allows
the town to be associated with several other communities and to share their
facilities.
Burlington Northern Railroad skirts the west edge of town providing rail
access for area farmers and businesses.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & RECREATION:
Uehling has a city park, which includes 2 ball fields and a trap shoot area.
Numerous softball and baseball games are played here by local kids during the
year.
The Uehling Auditorium is used for many civic events and is available for the
local children to play basketball.
Golf courses are located in Oakland just 7 miles north of Uehling and a 9
hole public golf course located at the north edge of nearby Hooper (7 miles
south of Uehling).
Logan Creek is located about a half mile west of town where the local kids go
fishing.
The historic Uehling Round Barn is on the National Register of Historical
Monuments and is located on the Northeast edge of town. It is built from all
hand cut lumber from local trees in 1918. The barn is octagonal in shape,
measuring 30 feet on each side. Its "diameter" from side to side measures
80 feet. Very few round barns exist anymore.
